V
5 birds in the sky
a giant V cut out
from a book’s first page,
it floats up and down
at irregular intervals,
seems to lose direction,
confused -
it’s hard to
keep things in order
at an altitude
swept by winds alone,
in a city where the
lights of dawn
sparkle brighter than stars -
as i watch,
the old leader
takes control of the
V formation
and the birds float
over the [...]
