The night sky
falling stars.. being sung by poets of all times and having been associated with a number of folk beliefs, the falling stars – actually meteor showers – are one of the most amazing observable events developing on a night sky.
a meteor shower is when cosmic particles, mostly the size of a sand grain or smaller, that is, cosmic debris, enter the earth atmosphere and burn out; if a particle is larger, and it does not burn out, it falls on earth and becomes a meteorite.
sometimes observable with bare eyes, as were those I have seen in august 2006, prolly the first real falling stars i’ve ever seen, the best way to watch them would be through a telescope..
so here it is a list of dates when meteor showers will occur this year in the months to follow, and the location on the sky where to look:
June Bootid – June 27 – variable
